A Circle of Support

My name is Keri-Ellen mom of 5 and business professor in Ontario, Canada. I met Sauda while working in Mpanda, Tanzania.

Sauda is a single mom of 2 who dreams of building her first home; one that offers her children peace and security. She trained as a social worker, but paid opportunities aren't available in her community. Even so, she volunteers her social services around 30 hours a week. To support her young family, she sells her hand made shoes and cobbler services at the market on week ends.

Here's the part that connected us immediately: the parenting experience.

The question "how am I supposed to do this with only two hands?" is universal.

So together, we built something that gives parents a hand (or two); the kitoto wrap style baby carrier.

Today, Sauda and her team of independent artisans in Tanzania, handcraft each kitoto pouch, which they send to North America. My team in North America completes the carrier by pairing the Tanzanian pouches with premium organic cotton stretchy fabric. The result is a baby carrier that is as beautiful as it is functional, made with love.

We made a wrap style baby carrier that supports your baby and your freedom.

"I have to tell you how much I absolutely LOVE this wrap! It has saved my sanity these past few months postpartum. It's so comfortable and my baby loves it, he sleeps in it for hours and I can get so much stuff done while wearing him. Thank you, it's been truly life changing."

Here's how we improved the stretchy wrap.

Less Length, More Storage.

Kitoto uses 40% less length than the average stretchy wrap. So it's more portable, and easier to put on. You also get a fanny pack stitched directly in the wrap so essentials stay within reach.

Families Thrive

Every purchase supports women in Tanzania to provide for their families and build their communities.

This is what your purchase makes possible

"Kitoto" means baby in Swahili, but to us it also means teamwork.

Our team in Africa is building entrepreneurial manufacturing work in a place where consistent income opportunities are limited.

Our team in North America is focused on supporting parents in the season they need it most.

We go together. We grow together.

Twende pamoja. Tukue pamoja.

Oh and Sauda? She's already bought land for her new home and will start building soon.
